Reset Password or Unlock Account
In this article
Nearly all Town accounts are required to register for self-service password reset. Self-service password reset gives you the ability to reset your password or unlock your account, with no administrator or help desk involvement.
From the Windows login prompt
On Town computers a Reset password option is available from the Windows login prompt. Clicking on this option will take you through the step-by-step process.
- At the Windows login prompt, click Reset password

- A temporary computer account is created to allow for a secure session. Click Reset password a second time to initiate the self-service password reset process.
Note: To cancel this process, click on Switch user to return back to the regular login prompt.

- The Self-service Password Reset Portal window will appear. Enter your email address, required captcha characters (not case sensitive) and click Next to proceed.

- Follow the remaining prompts to complete the process.
